The next version was android 5.0 which was very popular. The Lollipop version supported all screen sizes. It allowed notifications to be read on the lock screen and respond to messages from the home screen.
The next was Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Android 7.0 Nougat. There were new online payment options such as android pay available and multitasking was also enabled on phones as well as tablets.

Version 8.0 Oreo had features like auto-filling of forms, new emoji skins and visual changes in the menu.
Version 9.0 Pie did not have the three-button set up at the bottom of the device instead these options flashed on the screen. Also, DND (Do Not Disturb) mode and new lock screen features were launched. In the coming years, the android versions were stopped being named after sweets.
